Dorothy Gray, RN

I would like to nominate Dorothy for the DAISY Award for the exceptional care and compassion she showed me before my surgery. I was extremely anxious and worried about every little thing, but Dorothy had an incredible ability to make me feel calm and safe. What I remember most was her wonderful sense of humor. At a time when I truly needed it the most, she helped me laugh and distracted me from my fears in such a natural and caring way. She never made me feel silly for my questions. Instead, she met every concern with patience and warmth. Her calming presence completely changed my experience and helped me feel so much more ready. I talked about Dorothy with my daughter after I got back home. I mentioned that nursing is not only about medical skills but also about human compassion, connection, and the ability to comfort someone in a vulnerable moment. I will always be grateful for this extra care Dorothy gave me, and I believe she is deeply deserving of the DAISY Award.
