My mother came in with a very serious illness and was very uncomfortable and anxious. This nurse completed his first shift and we called him "Super Doug". We have been to the hospital several times with my mother and I have never seen such exceptional care. He checked in with us very often and explained things in a way that was perfectly clear and comforting. He would make sure I knew exactly what was happening and explained things I didn't even know how to ask. The last night before she passed, she was inconsolable, thrashing, and had no idea what was going on. I couldn't leave her in that state and didn't know what to do. Before I could even ask, Doug came in and asked if I would like for him to make her more comfortable. This put me at ease enough to be able to sleep through the night. In all we love Doug! He is the most deserving nurse I have ever met or interacted with!
