I feel very fortunate to have Doug on the 5E team. He is a wonderful nurse who advocates for his patients and, even during the busiest of shifts; he makes each one of them feel like they are his priority. Doug is a team player and proactively offers help to his colleagues whenever he has a free minute. He enjoys teaching and eagerly shares his knowledge with everyone around him, especially students and new graduate nurses. He has a positive and solution oriented attitude and is always looking for ways to make improvements in patient care and the unit workflow. He recently took the lead in two projects on 5E and demonstrated commitment and effective leadership during both. He welcomes change and sees it as an opportunity to grow and improve. Doug is very well-deserving of the DAISY Award.
