Doug was a Godsend to us! He is very knowledgeable, and his bedside manner was the best. We always felt very comfortable when he was here. He also seemed so relaxed in carrying out his duties in a smooth, relaxed method, so we always felt comfortable when he was in my husband’s room. So far, my husband has been in the hospital for two weeks, and I feel very fortunate that we have had Doug as his nurse on several occasions. The other nurses we had are great too, but we are able to recognize a difference between them and Doug. Doug would go out of his way to make me understand what was taking place in my husband’s care. There were times that after the doctors left the room, I felt like I did not understand what they were telling us, so Doug was always there helping us to understand.

He is a wonderful nurse and I personally witnessed him working with student nurses. He does a great job teaching them. He would ask them questions about why and how they were doing things. I have to say other nurses respect him and his reputation precedes him. He put several IV lines in using the ultrasound and always got them in with very little or no pain. Nurses that came in later to care for my husband seem to know the IVs were the work of Doug (he had 3 in one arm that Doug put in). I cannot say enough about Doug and the care and compassion he gave to us while we were here. If I could pick a nurse to care for me if I was admitted to the hospital, it would be Doug hands down.
