I watched Doug get consent for a procedure on a very sick patient. He was so kind and compassionate! He sat at her level, spoke calmly and quietly; explained everything beautifully. At the end of it, he took her hand in his, looked her in the eye, and said, "I'm so sorry you have to go through this" and then turned and shook her husband's hand. He was so wonderful!! When I shared this story, many of the nurses said they had seen him do this kind of thing many times! They love Doug!
