Doug Pope has gone above and beyond the call of duty in providing amazing care for my husband and he, without a doubt, deserves to be honored. Doug is an excellent example of what all people in the nursing field should strive to be. His professionalism, knowledge, ability to explain, and more importantly his compassion truly impressed me. No matter what we asked of him, he quickly did it or got whatever my husband needed.
My husband had many nurses that helped him during his stay, but Doug was the one that stood out. His willingness, kindness, and smile were greatly appreciated not only by my husband but by me. This man deserves the DAISY Award because his daily pleasant disposition made our worst days more pleasurable. This nurse not only touched our lives, but I am sure he has touched many other lives, including helping patients through their recovery and ultimately being discharged with a patient knowledge of what is expected. With Doug, I knew my husband was in the best possible hands. He goes above and beyond each and every day while providing quality care and support to his patients.
