Doug brought in a favorite meal for one of his patients who had trouble speaking. Doug said if the patient could tell him what he wanted; Doug would buy it for him on the next day. The patient said "Hardees", so Doug brought it in for him. Doug is a very caring and compassionate nurse who does these little things all the time and I think he should be recognized.

On New Year's Eve, Doug Sanders took the time after his shift to give his patient a shower, comb his hair, change into fresh clothes because he promised the patient's Mom he would do so. It was a very hectic 12 hour shift for Doug that day with having rehabilitation all morning and afternoon for this patient. Doug was completely exhausted but still took time out of his shift on New Year's Eve to take care of this patient.
Also, Doug had someone go to Taco Bell to get the patient a chicken wrapped tortilla because that is what the patient liked to eat and wanted. Doug went above and beyond the call of duty being the best nurse possible and treated patient like his own son; making him laugh, smile, eat, and take a shower, even though the patient didn't want to.
