During two consecutive and unforeseen visits to CHKD due to my children's atypical pneumonia, I found an unexpected source of comfort: Nurse Drew Kee. Remarkably, she was the nurse caring for both of my children, nine days apart, even though she is not a regular staff member on that unit! Her recognition and remembrance of me on the second visit brought a personal and comforting element to the experience, offering a sense of reassurance amid a stressful situation. Drew's care was outstanding; she was patient and attentive to both of my kids, addressing their needs with a demeanor that was both calm and compassionate. Her attentiveness extended beyond medical care, providing comfort and understanding, acknowledging the stress and worry that accompany a child's stay in the hospital. Drew delivered consistent, considerate care to each of my children, tailoring her approach to their unique reactions to their illnesses and treatments, all while maintaining a reassuring presence. Her ability to manage her responsibilities, providing such individualized care, was impressive. Her dedication and attentiveness alleviated my concerns and significantly contributed to the positive elements of our time at the hospital. She is wonderful!
