August 2020 Honoree
drucella stingley, RN, OCN
During my many infusions, sometimes my veins would just collapse, and other times I would be exhausted. However, Nurse Drucella would always take the time to find a working vein. She never refused me, even when I was not her patient. During those times, she always asked me how I was doing, exhibiting genuine concern for me and the lengthy process I was enduring. During one of our conversations, I shared with her how nauseous I was afterward. She provided some wisdom that changed my entire outcome. I followed her advice to eat a potato before treatment to curb nausea. I did and to God be all the glory, the nausea stopped just by coating my stomach with a heavy starch.
Nurse Drucella is a real champion for women enduring hardship like cancer. She always attends the celebration walk/run. That's a real treasure to know that she is in the trenches with us. Thank you, Drucella!
