On her first attempt, she put an IV in my right arm, which hadn't been stuck for years. Five minutes later, I was completely out of pain.
I came into the Emergency department suffering from diverticulitis and severe pain. I was actually having a pretty bad experience at first because my IVs had to be administered 3 times. They finally got it right with the ultrasound thing. So they got my IV in. It took them 2 different times to administer medication to alleviate the pain, but it still did not prevail. Then, along comes Nurse Dulcelena. She came in to give me my medication for pain. When she tried to give it to me, she found that the IV I had wasn't working right. So she asked me if she felt "confident" to redo the IV, would I let her. I said yes, and low and behold, on her first attempt, she put an IV in my right arm, which hadn't been stuck for years. Five minutes later, I was completely out of pain. After her help, the first thing I told her was she needed a promotion! Thank you so much for your heartfelt care and concern.
P.S. She even suggested tea that may help me improve at home! Thank you. A REAL NURSE!!
