Dwayne works closely supporting my community and is vital to the health and wellness of the residents of Eden Terrace Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Dwayne never ceases to impress me. His clinical skills are outstanding, and he is easily one of the most compassionate nurses I know. He is the kind of person who goes out of his way to solve a problem, heal a wound or share valuable information for the betterment of my residents. I have worked in the senior living industry for over 20 years and Dwayne is by far the best home health nurse I have ever encountered. I could list all of Dwayne's attributes which are caring, knowledgeable, respectful, prompt, communicative and personable. If you have ever worked with him, you already know him. Almost weekly, he is accompanied by new employees or students in need of a good foundation of the Spartanburg Regional Mission. I am sure he never disappoints. Dwayne is a great representative of Spartanburg Regional Home Health.
Recently, the Spartanburg Community suffered great losses during the tornado. As the administrator of an assisted living community responsible for 120 residents and 115 staff members, any emergency can make your heart "skip a beat" and leave you breathless, but this was "one of a kind." With only a few minutes to prepare, we rushed to get everyone from the second floor to safety. My staff sprang into action bringing residents down the main staircase. I was at the top and looked at the bottom of the stairs to see Dwayne. He jumped right in to help us ensure our residents were safe. He also had several students with him and directed them to assist as well. The tornado hit less than a mile from us. I will admit it was one of the most frightening moments of my career. I am so thankful for Dwayne. He was not thinking of his safety but of others. Dwayne is a true DAISY Nurse.
