We had a patient in our pediatric intensive care unit who was awaiting organ procurement. Dyan came to our unit and spent a lot of time with the family doing hand molds of the child and molds of the child holding the parent's hand. While she was here the father was not available so Dyan gave nightshift her phone number and then drove all the way back to do the mold with dad. Then the following day she came in on her day off to complete the molds and make sure the parents had them. The molds turned out beautiful! It was very nice to see someone have so much compassion for a patient's family. She really went above and beyond to give this family a token of their son and some comfort during such a terrible time in their lives.
