Dylan was taking care of a patient and noticed it was the patient's birthday. She got a birthday card for the patient and took it around the unit to get staff members' signatures. When our staff members receive small moment cards from patients, we allow them to take something from our spot box (i.e. candy, lotion, pop, etc). Dylan used a small moment card that she had received from another patient to get this patient M&Ms. She went above and beyond to make this patient's day special. She recognized that it's no fun to spend your birthday in the hospital so she wanted to give the patient something to smile about. Dylan is a very compassionate nurse and always goes out of her way to make sure patients know she cares.
