As a first-time parent recovering from birth, her tender suggestion to us and the way she cared for our son when he wasn't necessarily the patient we will forever be grateful for.
Thank you so much Dyonne for taking such good care of not only me but my family!

I recently gave birth to my first child. I was discharged after a couple of days and then needed to be readmitted back into the hospital again for postpartum preeclampsia. The hospital was very busy at this time, so we ended up back in the postpartum unit, and I was being taken care of by Dyonne. My husband and son were with me in the room.

Dyonne flagged a couple of times with us that my son looked a little too yellow. We reassured her that three pediatricians had seen him at this point, and they were not concerned about his levels of bilirubin (he was born jaundice). She lovingly insisted we call our pediatrician again to just look into it because his color concerned her. We ended up taking him into the emergency room at the hospital and he did indeed need light therapy for 12 hours.

As a first-time parent recovering from birth, her tender suggestion to us and the way she cared for our son when he wasn't necessarily the patient we will forever be grateful for. Without her medical knowledge and deep care for her job and impact, who knows what would have happened to our sweet boy. We were more than lucky to be in her care that day.

There is always so much going on after you delivery a baby and to have someone you feel comfortable and safe with makes all the difference. She truly cared for me and my family on the deepest level.

We've shared the story of our sweet nurse angel with so many people in our lives. She truly deserves to be recognized in a big way for his massive impact on those she cares for on a regular basis.
