Recently, at approximately 11:30 pm, a pharm tech and an Uber driver brought a man over to the E2 unit. The man was not a Veteran and he did not speak English. Jason P spoke to him, and the man said that he had pain in his abdomen, back, and chest 10/10 for over 4 hours. The E2 staff called 911 and CP EMTs arrived on E2 promptly. The Nursing team assisted the EMTs with vital signs and staying with the man. EKG showed possible ACS, b/p 184/116, Nitro given X2 with effect 5/10, chewable ASA given, IV placed. 911 ambulance arrived and transferred him to St. Luke's Hospital. The quick and prompt actions of this whole team in calling 911, having CP EMTs initiate cardiac protocol for chest pain, and remaining with him resulted in him getting transferred to St. Luke's hospital very quickly where he could receive more complex care for his chest pain.
