Easter speaks with a calming tone and is very knowledgeable. And I hope someday to see the rest of the face that goes with the compassionate, sympathetic, and empathetic eyes I saw in the ER. She was never away from me for long.
Well, Thanks to the Coronavirus, I never got to see her face. She was very kind, patient, and she told me what we were going to do, got the necessary things set it all up, and was gentle. Put it this way, I was having "Gastro" issues - so she had to do what I would think is the worst part of being a nurse. We had a couple of laughs which made the rest of the night go very well. When I told her that a certain prep worked well before, she went told the doctor and in a few minutes, she was back with it. I barely made the comment, "I forgot it was so bland". She told me to wait a sec ran out of the room, came right back in, and poured some apple juice in it! I drank it down quicker which was important.
She had to get an IV in. She tried 1 time in my hand like I asked and my veins weren't cooperating. She asked and I said yes try my elbow area of my arm. Again not working but she knew it needed to be done and she called for someone else to come do it, who wasn't as nice, in my wrist, OUCH!! Instead of trying to prove a point, she knew the important thing was getting it going. I admire and respect that! A week later my hand's still a little bruised but I think about her whenever I see it and smile.
That's a dedicated person who loves her job and puts people at ease. She went on break and I don't think she was gone long enough. She came in asking me how I was doing. I liked the way she introduced herself. Because the nurse who relieved her, I don't know her name, she never spoke to my face just kinda spoke loudly from behind the head of the bed and by the board, like "How's your pain?" I didn't know who she was talking to I just answered, "manageable", and an arm came over the back of me, grabbed a cup, sat it in the crook of my arm, and said "Drink it, K." I knew it was not Easter. She speaks with a calming tone and is very knowledgeable. And I hope someday to see the rest of the face that goes with the compassionate, sympathetic, and empathetic eyes I saw in the ER. She was never away from me for long.
I'm sure she treated all of the people in her care that way that night. When I rang (I think I did one or 2 times) bam! she was right there with a happy tone in her voice. I can't say enough good things about her. She's exemplary, awesome, and stupendous! Definitely in the right career!
Good job EASTER! Thank you for taking such great care of me, and making a not so great situation more comfortable.
