December 2016 Honoree
eboni williams, BSN, RN
We had a homeless post-operation patient who had driven his motorized scooter to the hospital. At discharge, he was planning to go to a hotel on North Tryon. The patient was anxious to leave and insisted on leaving even though it took five staff members including security to assist him onto his scooter. Eboni was begging the patient not to leave but he kept insisting. Eboni gave her personal umbrella to the patient's family member even though it would leave her without one when she finished her shift. During this time we were getting a lot of rain from hurricane Matthew. This behavior shows that Eboni is empathetic and really cares for her patients and their family members.
Thank you, Eboni, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
