I would like to nominate this nurse for the DAISY Award for the extraordinary care she provided to my pawpaw during his time in hospice. From the moment she entered our lives, she brought not only exceptional nursing care but also deep compassion, kindness, and humanity during one of the most difficult seasons our family has ever faced.
She cared for my pawpaw with dignity, patience, and genuine love, always ensuring his comfort and honoring him as a person, not just a patient. Making him always feel like a big, strong fireman, even at his lowest.
Just as importantly, she cared for our family. She took the time to check on us, offering comforting words and creating moments of light even in the darkest days.
Her warmth, gentle spirit, and ability to bring peace and laughter into the room made an immeasurable difference. She has a rare gift of brightening the mood and lifting our hearts when we feel broken.
We will never forget the compassion she showed or the impact she had on our family during such a sacred and painful time. She truly embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award, and we are forever grateful for the love and care that she gave to our pawpaw and to us.
