I have worked at NNRH for the last 10 months as a traveler and I have to say that, although this hospital is filled with exemplary nurses, Eden stands out in many aspects. Eden is graceful, even under pressure (as our job sometimes throws at us). Eden is thoughtful to all of her colleagues and especially to her patients. Eden is professional in all her interactions and duties. Eden is a very humble RN that is always considerate and helpful. I am often in the same room with Eden as she engages our patient population. Very often, after she leaves the room, patients respond with sincere accolades for her.
As if all of the above is not enough, Eden is always kind and helpful to me. This is not always the reception that I receive from staff during a traveling stint. And although this little rural hospital has treated me very well, Eden is remarkable. I would like to honor Eden Santos by nominating her for the DAISY Award as I believe that J. Patrick Barnes would definitely have been one of those patients that had positive things to say about Eden. Both to her peers and to his family. Thank you, Eden, for being a joy to work with!
