Edgar made it a point to come into my son’s room and see him. He said he had more football stories to share with him. This meant the WORLD to my son. By this time my son spirits had increased tremendously.
Edgar was one of my son's favorite nurses. My son was in a horrible bicycle accident and was in the hospital for a week. Edgar was his night nurse for the first 2 nights. Edgar had the most calming demeanor about him. He instantly made my son comfortable and was very gentle. My son was not himself for the first few days after his accident. He is usually such a happy, outgoing kid. Edgar picked up on this pretty quickly.

He asked him questions about his interests until he found some commonalities. Edgar shared that when he was younger, he was a volunteer fireman. He saw my son was intrigued. He even said to me, “Mom, that sounds really cool. I may want to do that someday.” Then Edgar asked my son if he played any sports. My son answered with football. Edgar shared that he played college football. I started to see my son light up when Edgar entered our room and shared stories about players he knew and whom he trained with. "Mom, Edgar knows some NFL players." My son hoped that Edgar could be his nurse every night. A few nights later, when Edgar had another shift, he was assigned to a different room. Edgar made it a point to come into my son’s room and see him. He said he had more football stories to share with him. This meant the WORLD to my son. By this time my son spirits had increased tremendously.

Edgar deserves to be recognized for his amazing, attentive care for my son. He left an imprint on his life, and for that, I will always be grateful and remember him.
