Edith is a perfect example of how a charge nurse should be. She goes above and beyond for her staff. She always makes herself available for the staff and is a resource for everyone on the floor. Being in charge of two floors can become extremely overwhelming. This has been especially true during this pandemic. It has been hard on all the staff.
Having a strong and caring charge nurse holding the floor together has been key. Edith understands how difficult situations get for nurses. She always tries to help out in whatever way she can to alleviate staff. Edith stands up for her nurses and listens to their concerns. For every hat you wear as a staff nurse, charge nurse, tele reliever, and sometimes HUC (health unit coordinator). Thank you, Edith, you are a true DAISY Nurse!
