Edith was one of the most kind and compassionate people I have ever met. She took so much time to help me try to understand my role and how to care for my husband.
My husband recently had his thyroid removed due to cancer. He had a follow-up procedure to have a G-tube placed in his stomach. My husband is 86 and I'm 77. When the procedure was complete, I was completely overwhelmed with panic and the responsibility to care for my husband. EVERYTHING seemed impossible and I could not stop crying. Edith was one of the most kind and compassionate people I have ever met. She took so much time to help me try to understand my role and how to care for my husband. She was never in a rush or wanting to just "get on" with helping me. She demonstrated such loving care. The following evening, she called me to check on me and to see if she could assist me in any way to make sure I was comfortable or if I need additional instructions or help. This act of kindness calmed me and I could not be more grateful for her concern for not only my husband but for me as well. She needs to be recognized for being a cut above in caring for not only patients but for their family members.
