I am so thankful for the support of my postpartum nurse, Edith Ortiz. She started her shift in the morning after I had an extremely stressful and demanding night with my newborn baby. From the moment she came in, I felt like her only patient, although I'm sure she had a handful of other patients to work with. I was so impressed with how well she listened fully to me and offered compassionate, resourceful care. It seemed like she bent over backward to tend to us, and I am still in awe of not only the level of care she provided but how wonderful it was to receive that care when I was in such a frustrated, vulnerable place.
