Edna's professionalism, communication skills, and calming wisdom were an excellent example of a skilled professional caring for a patient.
Edna Tamakloe is an Extraordinary Nurse. She is one of those who work in the shadows and you would never find her boasting of the good she has done. While doing leadership rounding patients always have wonderful things to say about her. Patients have also mentioned Edna in patient experience surveys.
Some of the things they have said about Edna are:
I am grateful for how she helped to manage my pain
She's an angel
I want to take her home
She should get extra care coins (I tell them we give care coins when patient/family mention staff)
Other staff have taken the time out to call out Edna. In one example a nurse wrote:
"I just wanted to let you know what an awesome job Edna did today. I was RRT today and had the opportunity to work with her on not one, but two calls. With each patient and family, she was kind and caring. Her assessment skills were spot on and she advocated well for her patients. She is a gem! Please tell her so!!"

Nurse Edna cared for me the last couple of days of my stay at the hospital. Her professionalism, communication skills, and calming wisdom were an excellent example of a skilled professional caring for a patient. Each interaction I had with her was an informative, helpful experience as I was recovering and being educated about my personal health.
She performed numerous tasks while assisting me. I was continuously gratified and impressed by her caring focus on my health and well-being as she assisted me. Her professionalism and caring service were extraordinary, and I had to write this letter, both as thanks to Edna and to inform her managers as to her excellence.
Excellent care and compassion I believe is based on personal interaction. Edna demonstrated the very best qualities and characteristics of a healthcare professional.
Edna recognizes that her calling for the work that she does is beyond what man could ever call her to do. Therefore, she does not seek earthly rewards. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
