Our education team at St Vincent’s Birmingham is phenomenal. There are so many good things to say about each one of them and the team as a whole being led by Cassie. Whitney, Theresa, and Kelsey are always easily accessible - we can always get in touch with them at any time. They respond quickly with phone calls or coming to the floor when we need it. They go out of their way to help our staff and patients. What they do goes above and beyond just education - they help us personally and professionally. More specifically - Theresa has helped get an associate to another hospital whose family was there sick when that associate didn’t have a way to get there.

Our education team has been instrumental in patient care - one chart education, policy awareness, and change, and critical thinking skills regarding medications such as heparin drips. Specifically on our medical/surgical floors we often do not see tracheostomies - they come at the drop of a hat for any help we may need, and physically walk us through these tasks at our side. They come to most of our dayshift codes to assess and educate where needed. They have come to the hospital on night shifts and weekends for education to make sure to cover all our units and shifts.

Their insight and words are on-point, and we know we are in good hands with the group we have. Our hospital is so fortunate and blessed to have not just an education team, but THIS education team.
