Tulane University Hospital hosted a "Man Up - Prostate Screening Day". Edward Bruski, RN attended the event to have his own PSA screening done. We had a very large turnout and the phlebotomy staff were working fast but the wait time was getting longer and longer. Many of the attendees were starting to complain. Although Ed was off duty he was still in uniform after working the night shift, he kindly allowed others attendees to go in front of him. He waited over an hour to have his own labs drawn. He could have then enjoyed the rest of event including meeting many New Orleans Saints Football Players but instead he volunteered to assist the phlebotomists in drawing blood on the 100+ attendees of the event. He stayed for several hours until we got the huge line under control. He also entertained many of people waiting and several of the retired football players by allowing them to look at his mint condition Archie Manning rookie football card. Ed epitomizes the mission of TMC by providing world class patient care, even on his off day.
