Ed is exceptionally patient with him, taking the time to listen to his needs and comfort him, making a potentially stressful situation much more manageable.
Ed has been our nurse on three separate admissions, all in relation to our son's kidney transplant in May 2024.

Our first experience with Ed was after our son’s transplant when we transitioned from the ICU to 6West. Our son developed a challenging wound, and Ed went above and beyond in finding solutions to help make our son more comfortable. Not only did he take the initiative to follow up with wound care nurses, but when we were unsatisfied with the initial treatment, Ed personally reached out to another expert in the field to ensure the best possible care for our son.

As a living kidney donor for our son, I also had physical limitations when it came to caregiving. Ed was incredibly considerate of my situation and made every effort to alleviate my responsibilities, always looking for ways to make the care process easier for both me and my son.

We have had the pleasure of having Ed as our nurse during two subsequent admissions for IVIG infusions, which carry a high risk of adverse reactions. Every time, we were relieved and excited to have him as our nurse. Our son, who has significant trauma from previous hospital experiences, is often difficult to calm for even routine procedures like taking blood pressure. Ed is exceptionally patient with him, taking the time to listen to his needs and comfort him, making a potentially stressful situation much more manageable.

Ed’s expertise as a nurse shines through in every interaction. He not only takes the time to understand our son’s specific needs but also consults with doctors in a timely manner when necessary to ensure the best possible care. His compassionate, thoughtful approach has made him one of our favorite inpatient nurses.
