When my dad was in critical condition and had a CT scan that showed multiple areas of infarct, Ed gave us the news in a gentle way without "sugar coating" anything. Ed was very attentive and knew exactly what each family member needed instinctively. A gentle touch, a hug or a kind word. Ed was there for all of us.
