Edward Sales, RN
I can spot an excellent nurse right away, and I saw the qualities in Edward Sales. Edward was my nurse for two days. For the two days he took care of me, he showed compassion, integrity, competence, commitment, respect, and dignity consistently.
As one example, I spent many hours in the ER and then moved to the unit. I was on oxygen by nasal cannula, and any moves can be so painful and dry due to the oxygen. Edward had the competence to hook up my nasal cannula to a humidifier to keep me comfortable and not inhaling dry air. This action is very basic and simple, but he has strong clinical skills and keen attention to detail.
When he talked to me when my husband was in the room, he also shared the information with him. I strongly believe that Edward deserves recognition for his commitment and nursing excellence.
