I've worked with Ed for over a decade at countless rapid responses and in the ER setting. Ed is a professional, competent, experienced, compassionate nurse and the list goes on and on. His knowledge of all things nursing continues to impress me. He is kind to his patients and their families. He sets their minds at ease by explaining things thoroughly and waiting to be sure they feel comfortable. He's very patient and truly listens to people. Often we work with cross cover residents at night and difficult decisions about how to manage a patient must be made. Ed offers wise and well thought out suggestions that greatly improve the patient's situation. He has a firm knowledge of his nursing role and hospital policies. He is respectful to other staff and offers help when appropriate. I have collaborated with him during many critical situations and he is always calm, level headed, open-minded and thoughtful. He brings a level of professionalism to all situations that embody the spirit of care we strive for at HMC. I have great respect for all the stat RNs I work with, but Ed stands out the most. He is the nurse I would choose for myself and my family if we were patients here at HMC.
