My son was facing a very difficult injury. My son was brought in for a football injury to the knee. We knew it was going to be either an ACL or an MCL tear. My son was offered football scholarships, so this was devastating.
Amongst our tears and frustration, a nurse named Ed came and stole our hearts. He sat with my son and explained how he was going to be ok, that it was going to be a rough road, but he could do it. This nurse was saying all of the special words I wanted to say but couldn't. I had to retreat to the waiting room so my son couldn't see me fall apart.
Again, Ed our nurse came and gave me a big bear hug to tell me "take a deep breath Mom, you got this." For this man to show so much kindness during such a difficult time was not only a blessing to us but also such a special light during our dark time.
Thank you, Ed, for being our angel that night.
