Edwin Clark is a perfect example of a caring and compassionate nurse. I had brain surgery, and I did not quite know what that would entail. After my surgery, I struggled with severe anxiety! My neck would get so stiff that I felt like I could not breathe or swallow. Edwin took his time with me and offered to sit in my room until I felt better.

When I started feeling anxious, he sat next to me and rubbed my back reassuring me everything would be okay all while doing anything I asked of him, i.e.- getting me ice/hot packs. His presence in my room helped me more than anything, and I felt safer knowing he was there if anything bad were to happen. He sat with me until my family got there to sit with me. I’m a nurse myself and I know oftentimes we do not have time to sit with our patients when we want to, but he made it clear that he did not care about that and was just worried about me feeling better! 

I hope you take the time to recognize your outstanding employee because he is most definitely an outstanding employee within your system! I may never interact with Edwin again, but I would do anything to show him how much I valued all he did for me during my stay! Thank you so much, Edwin, your service to me will be remembered for a lifetime! You truly make a difference in this world!
