I was all by myself as my family had to go home. I was scared. Edye held my hand and told me everything was going to be ok.
As a student we hate to feel like we are in our nurse's way. Anytime I needed guidance or encouragement you were right behind me for support! Thank you for continually standing with and teaching the baby nurses!

I was admitted to the ER with possible epiglottis. This is a serious diagnosis in which if something goes wrong, it can go bad fast. I was all by myself as my family had to go home. I was scared. Edye held my hand and told me everything was going to be ok. She even prayed for me. I told her I didn't want to die and she assured me I was going to get the best care from her and the doctor and assured me I was in safe hands. I don't think she realized how much I needed her kindness at that time. COVID has instilled a new fear in us when it comes to healthcare. She gave me education on what to expect and what was happening around me. She became my family during that time. It made it so much easier to be sick and worry only about getting better.
