Edtya recently went above and beyond in taking care of her patient. She had a patient that would be discharged home that day and would be starting with new dialysis the following day. In order to qualify for dialysis transportation the patient had to get herself to her first dialysis session and then the dialysis social worker would arrange the dialysis transportation from there on out. This patient had a visual impairment and did not drive. She also had a very early dialysis seat time before 6:00 AM, and her homemaker did not have any family either.

Edyta called the patient's church member to see if they could transport there but no one was able to help. Edyta was persistent and called PACE transportation services for a third time, she was disconnected during the previous calls and was finally able to speak to a representative and get transport for the patient to go to and from her dialysis session the next day. Edyta wore many hats on this day, caretaker, schedular, nurse, social worker, and so many more. This is not an uncommon occurrence for Edyta, she is a strong nurse who is very compassionate and cares for the whole patient and their family. She always goes above and beyond with a smile on her face and never complains.

Thank you, Edyta, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
