When the patient experienced a lengthy hospital stay involving several procedures and surgeries, as well as contracting Covid, he was very sick. He was treated by some of the kindest nurses I have ever met, who would go above and beyond their duties to accommodate his special needs. They brought him books, puzzles, and holiday gifts and made sure his needs were met. One nurse in particular even visited him weekly after he was discharged from the hospital. She was so incredibly generous and even purchased a gift for the patient's housemate when she was traveling. She called regularly to check on the patient.
