Eileen Hadley, BSN, RN

Eileen greeted us on a late night in March. It was a dreary, wet, depressing day. Though she had been working already for 4 hours, Eileen greeted us like we were coming to sleep in her home. Eileen was our first experience at Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Imagine being truly terrified and seeing Eileen welcome us with open arms. Whether we asked for anything at all she did it all with a smile and we immediately developed a connection. The bond continued and we were lucky enough to spend more time together. It was evident that our nurse, Eileen would repeatedly go out of her way to reduce our anxiety and fear.

On our last night on the floor, we were able to talk and share many things. I had already given her the name "Saint Eileen" from day 1! Eileen spoke to my child and built him up so he knew how far he had come since arriving on the floor. She made a point to mention to our son that his parents care. Saint Eileen clearly has mastered her work as a nurse...Lucky for all of us! We are truly grateful for being on the receiving end of her care.
