Eileen was nominated several times by her coworkers, but it is the reason she was nominated that shows nursing is her skill and caring is her profession. Her nominations shared the same qualities as well as the same story. She is described as kind and patient with families. She recognizes the importance of treating our patients as individuals and families, not just patients. She is described as one of the gentlest, most supportive, caring and compassionate people they know. The care she delivers is described as "special" and her coworkers feel lucky to have such an amazing person on their team.
Her team all referred to a recent story where she volunteered her time to go on a transport. She helped a family bring a very sick infant home to hospice. She connected with the family and made their transition more comfortable with her support through a very difficult time.
