December 2021 Honoree
Eimear Melton, BSN, RN, CPEN
Eimear Melton has worked at ACH for many years. I first met her in the ED as a tech. She eventually got her RN and worked in the ED where she excelled at compassionate, extraordinary care. Now she is a PCM in the ED and continues to show these qualities over and over again - not only to her patients but to her fellow nurses. Everyone has been feeling the strain of increased census mixed with staffing shortages, increased acuity, and burnout. Despite all the things she must do as a PCM, Eimear will come to the floor and pick up multiple patients and do everything she can to help us feel less stressed, less strained. She has picked up many extra nights in the ED as a staff nurse just to help her team out so that we can have some reprieve - a chance to catch our breath. To me, that is truly compassionate care.
Thank you, Eimear, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
