Elena came into my life as the GI Specialist assigned to my care. At the age of 29, I had been on a sudden, rapid, and steady down-turn with my physical (and, consequently, mental) state for about a month and had no idea what was causing my illness. Elena took my case to heart, walking me through every step of the care process I'd be looking at in the near future, as well as what to expect for the rest of my life with an incurable disease.
Elena answered my questions fully, ensuring I understood each response. She guided me to helpful resources other than herself, and cautioned me of misinformation out there as well. She listened diligently to my new emotional and mental concerns that came with a fresh diagnosis -- an autoimmune diagnosis that came in the middle of a global pandemic. I was in full panic mode, but she addressed each of my concerns with sincerity and gave me options if I still felt uneasy in the world. Elena responds to me in a timely manner whenever I reach out between appointments. She quickly and compassionately delivers findings from recent tests/procedures, never making me feel like it's a new emergency for me to panic about internally. I don't think I ever want a different GI specialist. Elena is the best of them! I am forever and always grateful to her for coming into my life when she did, guiding me with her vast knowledge and calm demeanor, and easing my pains.
