Elena has proven to be a very hard worker and compassionate about what she does. From the beginning, she has taken an active involvement in establishing work-flows to best treat patients. She goes over and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis with the patients and physicians. She has participated in various roles in the clinic such as DBT and In-patient support committee. She is also very involved with our diabetic care management team. She takes a special interest in our heavy Latino population, explaining to them in words they can understand. She is culturally sensitive to all the patients ensuring that they are all getting the best care. It is no wonder that Elena was honored with the prestigious Unsung Hero Award by the KP Latino Association of Southern California. She is very well liked by the staff, physicians, and patients. Any time help or advice is needed, she is right there willing to lend a hand. She defines the true term of professionalism.
