I remember the first time I had Elianna for my husband's nurse. She came into the room with personality, character, and earnest caring. We spent 3.5 months at Shirley Ryan and she proved to be on the job every time we had her as our nurse. She made me feel welcome and involved in my husband's care. We could visit with her and tell personal stories and share a laugh and corny jokes. She was always super prepared, organized, and on her game. She made sure to answer any questions and assist in teaching me care skills. I always felt so happy and comfortable with Elianna. But here is where she showed her extra mile:
A few days before we left, she spent several hours educating us on our home care, medications, bowel program, skin care, and any other topic we wanted to discuss. And to top off the service, she stayed 2.5 hours past her shift getting our supplies to go home packed. She stayed and printed off several handouts and made us a packet of information! She went way above and beyond her shift time to see that we were prepared and had everything to go home and have a successful transition.
Her care and compassion are immeasurable and her dedication to me and my husband will never be forgotten. She put in so much personal time and selflessness in her actions toward me and my husband. I am forever grateful to Elianna!
