Over the past year, Elisa Caracciolo had a baby- she borrowed her fellow employees’ shoes as her feet were so swollen hers did not fit. She kept going daily with a big smile, but she was struggling along uncomfortably; you would never have known it. She was determined to give 100 percent to our department. The baby was in the NICU, and she was really stressed but kept smiling the whole way. Her parents came from out of town to visit, and her father became ill. After weeks of caring for him and coming to work throughout this awful time, very sadly, he passed away. Elisa has given us 100 percent every day throughout the year. She has stepped up and helped me and my surgeons in the ENT team when I was not able to. She is a tower of strength, bravery, and resilience. She is patient with our families and new staff and keeps smiling even when her world is falling apart. She percepts every day just about. She deserves so much. She is the employee you wish you had a billion of, and she is loved by everyone in our department.
