My father is an 82-year-old man with multiple health complications who has spent more time in hospitals than he would ever like. He also has significant hearing difficulties, which can make communication frustrating and sometimes make him seem grumpy. As his daughter, hospital visits are often very stressful for me because I worry about his comfort, care, and overall experience. Elisha made an incredible difference for both of us. From the moment she began caring for my father, she demonstrated extraordinary patience, kindness, and compassion. She took the time to communicate in a way that he could hear and understand, never appearing rushed or frustrated. Her calm demeanor and genuine respect helped my father feel comfortable, even during a difficult hospitalization.

What stood out most was how well she connected with him. Despite his usual dislike of being in the hospital, he genuinely enjoyed having Elisha as his nurse and responded positively to her care. Seeing him comfortable and at ease meant so much to me. Elisha also recognized the stress I was carrying as his daughter. She answered questions, offered reassurance, and provided support that extended beyond caring for her patient. Her compassion toward my father and me made an overwhelming situation much easier to navigate. Elisha embodies everything the DAISY Award represents. Her patience, professionalism, and heartfelt compassion made a lasting impact on my father and on me. I am deeply grateful for the exceptional care she provided and believe she truly deserves this recognition.

Thank you, Elisha, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
