I am honored to stand with you today to acknowledge and honor Beth’s 38 years of dedicated service. Throughout Beth’s tenure, she has championed innovative educational initiatives, developing comprehensive training programs that have significantly enhanced nursing competencies and fostered a culture of continuous improvement. Her ability to identify and address the evolving needs of nursing staff has not only elevated professional standards but has also empowered nurses to pursue lifelong learning and career advancement.
Beth’s leadership in the professional excellence program has been instrumental in implementing best practices and evidence-based approaches, which directly contributed to improved patient outcomes and staff satisfaction. Make special mention to her role in the contributions in achieving Nurse Magnet Designation in 2016 at CTMF.
Her mentorship and support have nurtured a new generation of nurses and nursing leaders, ensuring the sustainability of high-quality care within healthcare organizations.
Beth has served as a beacon of inspiration to those at all stages of their career and in the various and important roles of nursing.
Moreover, Beth’s commitment to community engagement, academic partnerships and advocacy for nursing excellence has strengthened healthcare’s reputation and its impact on the broader healthcare landscape. Another example is the Success of our Vaccine Clinic that was provided by CGSHS during Covid. Beth collaborated with Jamie Jack Dowell at CGS, and quickly partnered with our Academic partners and the city and county employees. The Clinic vaccinated over 70,000 lives and was recognized by the State of Texas.
Her work exemplifies the core values of the DAISY Award—compassion, dedication, and a profound commitment to the nursing profession.
