November 2020 Honoree
elizabeth asbrock, RN
RN Asbrock consistently makes a meaningful difference through compassionate care that goes above and beyond the expected nursing role. On one occasion Ms. Asbrock identified a Veteran patient that had an emergent situation due to flooding. This Veteran was bed bound and needed to be evacuated from his flooded home. She immediately stepped in and worked directly with the Veteran's spouse to safely move the patient to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Once the Veteran was medically cleared, she worked with home base primary care leadership and other members of the HBPC team to ensure this Veteran was moved to a safe location until his home could be deemed safe to return. On another occasion, she arrived at a Veteran's house to find his caregiver was ill and required emergent care. She stayed with the Veteran to ensure the caregiver received the care he needed and then worked to find placement for the Veteran.
RN Asbrock is fully committed to her role as a nurse. She is respectful to the Veterans and their caregivers. She provides excellent service to our Veterans. It's truly an honor to work with her, she is dedicated to serving our Veterans.
