EB gave me the most incredible advice I've ever gotten as a new parent, "It's ok to cry, Mama." She embraced me and told me how everything was going to be ok.
After I had my baby, I was under the care of Miss "EB." She took incredible care of me during my stay, but she left a long-lasting impression the night before my discharge. Being in the hospital for almost 6 days takes a toll on anyone, but especially a new mom who is all alone. After a lengthy induction followed by an unexpected c-section, I told my husband to go home and get some rest before our discharge the next day. I was struggling late that night until Miss EB came to check on me. She noticed that I was silently crying while watching my baby sleep, and she gave me the most incredible advice I've ever gotten as a new parent, "It's ok to cry, Mama." She embraced me and told me how everything was going to be ok. She walked with me and my daughter to the coffee bar, all the while assuring me I was doing a great job. That was several months ago, but I think about Miss EB every day. I hope my girl will grow up to be as kind and compassionate!
