June 2025 Honoree
Elizabeth Berganza, RN
This was my second surgery here at the hospital. I needed an aortic valve replacement this time. Open-heart surgery is not only painful beyond words, but it is also scary. I want to praise and recognize Elizabeth. When I was transferred out of the ICU into my regular room, she was my main caretaker during the daytime for three days in a row. I own my own business with 50 employees. I know that 3 long shifts back-to-back were not easy and were very hard on her feet; however, she made sure to take care of everything. None of my employees could have handled that. She not only handles the job, she is a master at it. Under her care, I never once felt in need. She stayed on top of everything. I never needed to hit the call button. She went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as possible, all while caring for her other patients. I can't list everything she did. All I can say is that her care and compassion deserve recognition. These things aren't taught in school, and not everyone has them. However, she does! She cares about her patients and does whatever it takes. I wish she could work for me. She deserves this recognition.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
