I would like to take the opportunity to nominate this nurse for the DAISY Award. She has so many wonderful qualities that make her a phenomenal nurse. Caring, Dedication, patience, intelligence, but most of all, is her dedication to her patients no matter what the situation.

This nurse had a patient that came out hypotensive with the systolic pressure in the 60s. She remained calm and worked with the anesthesiologist to troubleshoot and stabilize her patient. After receiving orders, she continuously tried to stabilize her patient. This nurse did not stop, even after her shift ended, she stayed and worked every avenue she could to bring the patient's blood pressure up. During this time, she contacted the family numerous times to update them and relay his progression. Once the patient's blood pressure was stabilized, this RN stayed by the patient's bedside. He was in so much pain, but she was unable to give him pain meds because of his blood pressure. Although his blood pressure was stable, pain meds would have dropped his blood pressure. This nurse held her patient's hand and did everything she could do to relax him and try to ease his pain. Ice, calm environment, distraction, and her caring attitude. She used everything in her toolbox and never left his bedside. She was able to get him to his room upstairs with his family to start his recovery. This nurse brought the patient up to the floor, even though she gave report over the phone. She wanted to go over things at the bedside with the nurse taking over so this man would be well taken care of and the family would be reassured that the man was going to be well. It's important to know that this is only one incident. This nurse treats every patient she has with this type of phenomenal care.

Her care for this patient was what I could only hope I would have or my family to receive. Banner Del Webb is the exception facility because of nurses like her. Thank you!
