When the patient didn't feel she had the strength to keep fighting for her recovery, it was Beth who pulled her through and encouraged her to not give up.
Beth provided patient-centered care that was compassionate, kind, sincere, trustworthy and DEFINITELY above and beyond. There was a very ill patient who had an extremely extended stay in the hospital. Beth not only cared for this patient's complex wounds and colostomy, but was dedicated to improving this patient's mental state about the health changes she was undergoing.
Beth brought stories, laughs, a friendly presence, and encouragement to an otherwise difficult situation. When the patient didn't feel she had the strength to keep fighting for her recovery, it was Beth who pulled her through and encouraged her to not give up. Beth wove this friendliness and cheerfulness into her care, while also educating the patient about her new way of life with a colostomy.
Without Beth's involvement and encouragement, this patient would not have fared as well as she did. Beth has demonstrated what it is to be an exemplary Nurse with an unmatched dedication to her patients.
