Lizzie deserves the DAISY Award because she exemplifies everything the award stands for. She is a passionate patient advocate, an instrumental resource for night shift nurses (and day shift as well) and honestly, a role model for our staff.
She took care of a critically ill patient who had more drips than could be counted, on CRRT and in isolation. This patient was so busy and complicated but she pulled it off without a hitch. She treats all patients as if she has known them her whole life. She treats her teammates as if we are her family. She is everything I think of when I want to explain what nursing is.
